I was once there, I decided to cut it myself with a shaving razor! It came out great:) But I wouldn't recommend you doing that so if you are going to a hairdresser you should ask for layers and layers most preferably starting off short at the top and getting gradually longer at the bottom. The shorter at the top the more volume you will be able to create with teasing/backcombing. Just make sure it's not SUPER short at the top! Good luck with the hair:)
