How to make good money as a hair stylist?

I am going to beauty school and I want to know the secret to making good money in the industry. Also, how to go about getting a job and clients when you get outta school? Any thoughts?How to make good money as a hair stylist?
Start at a place that charges a small amount for ';booth rental';, you will start getting clients as you prove your skills (by word of mouth). Once you are able to have your own salon you can have people under you and charge them rentals plus the money you make from your clients.How to make good money as a hair stylist?
Been there, my friend. A great personality that combines friendliness, attentiveness, and a great ability to listen will definitely be a good start to a great career. My best advice is to get onboard with a busy chain/franchise (ie: Master Cuts, etc... right away, that way you can get some good experience with the volume of cuts. Take as many of the free courses they have to offer. Build-up a clientele. Then, in a couple of years, take that knowledge and you clients and kick it up a notch. Be willing to work hard and be willing to beyond the call of duty. That will set you apart from the others. When I finally left the business after 7 years (I got married and was ready for a change) I had other stylists clamouring for all my clientele. I made good money and did very well. It has helped me with my other ventures since then. Work hard, and learn - that will be the real key.
YOU NEED TO SPECIALIZE IN COLOR I MEAN EVERY NUMBER ON EVERY COLOR BOTTLE SO WHEN YOU GO TO WORK U CAN COMMUNICATE BETTER WITH THE SALESMEN AND PLUS VERY IMPORTANT KNOW HOW TO USE EVERY COLOR AND ON WHICH KIND OF STYLE I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE THIS COMPLICATED IM TRYING TO HELP I WAS IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY FOR 27 YEARS AND I WISH THAT I HAD TAKING MORE CLASSES ABOUT COLOR BECAUSE I FOUND OUT HOW MUCH THEY MAKE. BIG BUCKS!!!! AND JUST HAIRCUTING DON'T LET ALL THAT PARTING OFF FOR HAIRCUTS STICK TO U LIKE GLUE EITHER BECAUSE EACH NEW HAIRCUT U HAVE U PART DIFFERENT. LET ALL THE TECHNICAL STUFF KICK IN. THE TEST ARE A PIECE OF CAKE SO DON'T LET IT WORRY U. AND REMEMBER U HAVE TO STAND ON YOUR FEET ALL DAY SO STAY IN SHAPE!!! YOUR BEST BET IS TO START OFF AT A SHOP IN THE MALL.
