Does your hair stylist give you new haircut ideas?

Every time I go to get my hair cut I always ask the stylist, do you have any ideas on how my hair would look better. A new part, a shorter or longer cut a new color etc. They always say, ';that is your decision sir'; I would like to get new ideas from someone who has never met me and may see me different than I see myself. Is that to much to ask?Does your hair stylist give you new haircut ideas?
No generally I have to have the ideas and then my stylist tells me why or why not it would or wouldn't work for me.
