That's just the haircut price, ......what about all the other hair services. They don't usually pay according to their prices, but on how many hours you work. Most don't pay a commission on theirs, just either per day, or week. Why not ask the stylist that offered you the job how much she would intend to pay you. How can you ask mostly non hairdressers who answer here about something they have no idea about when asking the stylist is the best way.
edit....when you say apprentice I'm assuming you're not doing hair on commission.....if it is commission then it does vary, quite often a lot in the beginning. Still ask them, they can give you an idea

There is going to be a huge range in salaries for stylists. Depending on what area you work in and what salon. Also as your experience level and client base increases, so will you salary.
My understanding is they probably make anywhere from 30-80 k and considering that most stylists are lazy and incompetent probably most are in the 40k range.
heres the lovely thing about being a hairdresser.. commission. every week ur rate can fluctuate. depending on the salon and the number of clients it can be different. where i work i had to build my own client base.. so for a long time i really wasnt making much money at all. i depended on walkins.. i dont get paid hourly, so if noone is in my chair that no money in my pocket. anyway.. if you do work that full time and ur busy id day without tips anywhere from $2000 - $5000.. just depends. hope it works out!!
