How much do hair stylist make yearly?

I am a junior in high school and i recently wanted to be in the medical field. But I also love styling hair and doing stuff like that. Only thing Is I would like to be making decent money. I live in north carolina so If i was a stylist it wouldn't be like a huge new york kind of thing. Just a simple hair stylist in a salon.


How long would it take me to become one, how much would I make yearly? (average)

Well every state is different with hours. You should contact a school near you and go visit the admissions person to get answers to the questions you have.


As far as money, it all depends on what level you want to be. A salon owner, a stylist/colorist in a small salon or large salon??????





Some people get out of school and hate cutting and they only color and or do up do's and cuts. Do what you are best at, it may be all or it may be one.


If you plan on moving later on you should get the highest amount of hours possible so you have the hours to work in another state.
