I am a hair stylist and I work @ a Chained store that pays me minimum wage or 40 percent of the total that week, which ever is greater,

So needless too say, the 100 bucks that was just giving too me goes into the drawer for the owner of the shop and I will in return get my minimum wage, which leaves me too bring home anywhere around 900 too 1000 a month.

We never make over 800 a week for the shop so just say 40% of 800 would be 320 which leaves too around 1200 a month before tax's, let me remind you that us hair stylist do have too pay anywhere between 5,000 too 20,000 for our school

O and don't let me leave out the fact that 99.9 of us stylist get the varicose veins in our legs for standing on our feet for long periods at a time along with the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in our wrist and arms from styling and brushing the clients hair.

Now I know that people everywhere have too live off of minimum wage, But why after paying 5000 and doing two years of school, getting the our body's ruined and working our tales off too satisfy clients should we have too live off of minimum wage?

We hair stylist actually depend on your tips.

Unless you are renting out a booth which in my area is 160 a week, the 100 isn't yours, And you still have too pay tax's on all the money you bring in or go too jail, and you buy all the products as well.

I usually tip 5-10%, depending on how well the work was done.
I think around $5 to $7.
At least 10% of the total, but 15% would be great!
I usually tip mine 20%.
it's such a foreign concept here in Australia! We don't tend to tip for anything! Remind me not to visit the USA for that reason lol i am poor!

I say nothing unless they do a really AWESOME job! Then only a little...
i wouldn't give her anything, you just gave her a hundred dollars! I would think that that is enough!
probably 15 $ cuz u give 20% of how much it costs
I pay whatever the cost is... no tips! We dont tip here in Australia - I pay what the agreed price is for goods/services. I dont see a reason to tip as people are paid wages for their work and shouldn't expect more.
for something like that (depending on location) and if you like the work about 10 bucks.
I give mine 5 dollars. I really like and trust her, therefore she is worth it.
Depending on how much you like the result and the service. I usually give at least 10%. And also what you're comfortable giving.
