It usually costs me about $40- $50. Do you normally tip a percentage of the cost, or just a flat amount? How much do you tip your hair stylist?
My hairstylist is the owner of his salon. I've given an $8.00 tip for the past seven years. He initially charged $32.00 for a haircut, but the cost is now $37.00 and I still only give him $8.00. I also tip the shampoo girl $2-$3 and give him a Christmas present in the amount of the cost of the haircut every year. How much do you tip your hair stylist?
Depending on where i go for the cut, mine usually cost between $20-$50, and i always tip $10. Unless, on the rare occurrence, the stylist did something extraordinary, either with my hair, or just provided excellent service. Anything above and beyond may prompt me to take it as high as $20. Also, if i'm in a situation where she finishes the cut, and i look at it, and decide i want her to go back and do some more work because it's 'not quite right' yet, i will throw in an extra $5 if she spends that extra time on me without complaint.
Between 15%-20%
it should depend on how your hair ended up and if you like the stylist but at that amount five or six dollars would be fair.
15%
$10-$15 flat.
I usually tip a percentage about 20%.
Well, the last time I ever went to the hair stylist was back in 1962. I wanted to don my new pill-box hat, so I asked for the Jackie-O bouffant at the Beauty Nook Glam-O-Rama Parlor, and paid a whopping $3.00 for the hair-doo, and I left a .45 cent tip. That was a 15% tip...but I believe 20% is now the standard. Due to inflation, I much prefer my own wash-n-wear look I've got going for myself now.
I have had the same stylist for many years and I am happy with her work, so I tip 20% of the total. This is probably more than what many others tip. I wouldn't tip that much for someone who was new to me.
I usually give 10% but sometime I did not take the change..
I usually tip 20% if I am happy with the out come. 20% seems to be the norm for services such as hair, nails, massages etc.I hope this helps.
