How much should I tip my hair stylist?

I never get my hair done professionally-- but I am going next week. I know for a fact that the total will be somewhere between $85 and $100 and my appointment is at a pretty high end place.





I've heard that 15%-25% is a good rule-- based on how well they do. Is that accurate? I would like a hair stylists opinion more than anything.

yes. my hair stylist is award-winning and at one point was voted the top 10 in nyc. I tip him 20%. I noticed that if you take care of the stylist the stylist will take better care of you. So the next time you come back, you are sure to get a great haircut.How much should I tip my hair stylist?

I agree with 20%. If you tip your stylist well then they'll be more apt to take better care of you.
I would go conservative and say 10-15%
