What is an average day like for a hair stylist?

I'm interested in cosmetology, especially hair color. But I want to know what it's really like day in and day out. How difficult is it working on people? How much personal creativity is involved? Do most people come in with set ideas or do they want your input? Any answers are appreciated. What is an average day like for a hair stylist?
I'm not too sure. I believe you book your days how you want them...as many or as little clients as you'd like. One thing... when I'm getting my hair done, all I can think about is how my hair stylest stands in one spot for 8 hours a day. Ouch!!What is an average day like for a hair stylist?
Sit in a beauty shop and observe. Talk to local owners.
Alot of time on your feet, I'am sure it is stressful, there are people of all kinds out there, and you have to put up with them. I think alot have their mind set on somthing when they get there, if you can do it okay but otherwise have to suggest somthing else and hope they like it.
The cosmetologists that I have known (4) have worked in the business long enough (10 Yrs +) to go back to school for something better. Long hours, on your feet the whole time, smells and yappy people. They have ALL said it was not worth the money to go to school for that they should have just gone to college to start with.
